Dorothy Simister

LCSW

Dorothy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who is passionate about helping others navigate life’s challenges with empathy and expertise. She earned her​ Master of Clinical Social Work degree at BYU​ and her bachelor’s degree in social work from Utah Valley University. Having grown up in the Northwest and lived all over the United States, Dorothy’s most recent move brought her from Germany to Utah, where she now lives with her teenager and cat.

In various treatment settings, Dorothy has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. She specializes in supporting underserved and diverse populations, with a particular focus on autism. Dorothy’s therapeutic approach draws from her training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Strengths-Based Therapy, ensuring that each treatment plan is personalized to meet the client’s unique needs.

Dorothy’s passion for clinical work began with her own journey of healing and self-discovery, which fuels her dedication to guiding clients through their own transformative processes. Outside of her work, Dorothy loves exploring nature, spending time with her loved ones, and sipping hot chai as part of her self-care routine.
